Merrillville Businessman Raises $11,000 for Charity in Denver!

Merrillville based Motivational Speaker, Tim Shurr, assisted the Leadership Academy of Aurora in Colorado to raise $11,000 for a local charity. Shurr provided a 3-hour program on self-leadership and personal development for the surrounding communities of Denver, which brought in local sponsors and ticket sales that were donated to the Aurora Resource Center.

The money will go towards helping low income families gain access to community resources, empowering them to provide their children with a better, more educated future. Says Shurr, "People need skills for feeling internally confident and secure. When you feel good about yourself, you're much more likely to assist others in feeling good about themselves in any way you can! My mission is to help as many people as possible to end the needless suffering that we tend to put ourselves through!"  Tim Shurr, MA, CH, is President of Shurr ! In spirit of Oprah Winfrey's television show, "The Big Give" Shurr says he will continue to use his skills to help local and national organizations raise money for good causes. Bill Voloch, Chief Financial Officer for The Aurora Medical Center, and one of the main sponsors for the charity event said, "Tim Shurr created the draw that we needed to fill those seats. He was the main event and as a result, we had over 160 people show up to hear him speak. His insights were like a breath of fresh air and it really had an incredible impact on all of us in attendance."
