Three Tips For Conquering Your Cravings This Holiday Season!

Do people really gain 5-10 pounds over the holiday season? The official answer according to researchers is "No." On average, people only gain one pound during the Thanksgiving holiday. Of course, if you add Halloween candy and Christmas bingeing, it may actually be more!

The problem, according to WJS's Health Blog, is that people tend not to lose those extra pounds they put on during the holidays and this weight can add up! The holiday season, no surprise here, may be a key contributor to long-term weight gain in adults.Decide in advance what is more important. Being gluttonous or fitting into your pants come January.

Sample the things you desire so you don't feel deprived, but plan ahead by bringing dishes that are healthy for you.

To curb cravings, try sucking on something sour like a slice of lemon or a cough drop. You can also use an aversion technique to quickly eliminate the desire for junk food. Imagine your favorite food soaked in something that you find disgusting or repulsive.

Imagine trying to eat doughnuts covered in barbershop hair or finding beetle parts in your chocolate. Many insect parts are actually in chocolate. It's allowed by law and no, I'm not making this up! If you Google what's in your junk food, you might find it very easy to say, "No thank you." this holiday season.
